Hormel Foods'' General Counsel Will Retire

According to the Associated Press, Hormel Foods Corp. said that James W. Cavanaugh, the company''s senior vice president of external affairs and general counsel, plans to retire at the end of January. Cavanaugh worked at the company for 29 years. Lori J. Marco, who previously served as senior attorney, will succeed him. In related news, Chief Financial Officer Jody H. Feragen also has been promoted to executive vice president from senior vice president. The company also named Steven G. Binder as executive vice president of refrigerated foods; Ronald W. Fielding as executive vice president of corporate strategy, planning and development; Thomas R. Day as group vice president of foodservice; and James M. Splinter as group vice president of grocery products. All changes will be effective on Nov. 1.
