InBev to sell Korean beer unit

September 4, 2008

Belgian brewer InBev is planning to put its Korean beer business up for sale, in an effort to shed a non-core asset and raise what could be approximately $2 billion for its purchase of U.S. brewer Anheuser-Busch, as reported by Reuters. Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan Chase will run the auction for the business, called Oriental Brewery. The auction is not likely to start until the closing of InBev''s planned takeover of Anheuser-Busch.
