The IR5000 Open Path Hydrocarbon Gas Detector from General Monitors is now available with a new expanded distance range of 130 meters, offering increased versatility when choosing an open path gas detection system. The IR5000, with its unique, highly accurate single gas detection beam technology, improves accuracy, reduces drift and raises immunity to false alarms. The unpredictable nature of clouds formed by gas leaks and the effects of air currents from even light winds indicate that in outdoor environments, gas dispersion can result in very low gas concentrations. The IR5000 Open Path Gas Detector offers a powerful new option for protecting people, equipment and facilities from these dangerous low concentrations—and more difficult to detect—hydrocarbon gas leaks. The IR5000 can now be configured for distances of 20, 100 or 130 meters. The General Monitors IR5000 effectively detects gas leaks with its high sensitivity and operates as a hazardous situation monitor for higher gas concentrations. The open path monitoring unit is designed for detection of hydrocarbon gases in the 0-5,000 ppm●meter and 0-5 LEL●meter ranges.
