K-Vision Feeder Operator Interface, Controller to be introduced at Powder Show

April 26, 2006

K-Tron Process Group will introduce K-Vision™, a new feeder operator interface for controlling up to 16 feeders in a single process line, at the Powder & Bulk Solids Show May 9-11 in Chicago (Booth 1117). K-Vision uses a 10.4-inch color LCD display together with a touchscreen as the primary operator input mechanism. It offers a quad screen display mode for viewing multiple pages on one feeder or a single page on multiple feeders. The new operator interface also offers support for multiple languages including Chinese and Japanese.

Designed for simple operation and fast and easy start-up, K-Vision offers graphic visualization of process information, utilizing flexible, easy to use trend graphs. The new feeder interface offers event logging and will support all of the different feeding control types for both continuous and batch operation.

K-Vision will support multiple communications options to host, including Allen Bradley DF 1, Device Net, EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU, Modbus +, Modbus/TCP and Profibus DP. Easy to maintain, K-Vision software updates are possible by download or easy exchange of flash memory. The operator interface device meets IP 65 and NEMA 4 standards, European ATEX category 3D hazardous area standards and U.S. standards for Class II, Division II, Groups F & G. It can be panel mounted, with all connectors on the rear of the unit.

K-Vision can act as an operator interface for all current K-Tron feeder controllers, including KCM, SCM, KSHM, KSSM and also the older, obsoleted K10S controller. It will replace the current KSL operator interface that currently handles up to eight feeders in one line.

K-Vision serves as a mid-level operator interface. Other feeder operator interface choices are the KSU-II, which operates one feeder at a time, and the K-Tron Smart commander (KSC), a PC based operator interface that can control up to 30 feeders in up to eight different process lines.
