Lightweight PVC Tubing for Suction Applications
November 1, 2010
The PVC tubing provides an alternative to the bulk and weight of multi-layer rubber hoses for suction requirements. The tubing offers all-PVC construction along with flexibility and durability for a dependable product. It’s reinforced with spirals that help the tubing flex without kinking, resist crushing, and withstand vacuum applications as high as 28 in./Hg. It works well in pressure applications, too, according to the manufacturer. The PVC tubing is chemical- and corrosion-resistant and has a smooth inner surface for maximum flow of fluids, air, or granular materials. It also allows for visual contact with the flow. Available in three styles – heavy, standard, and light duty. Industrial grade or food grade, made from non-toxic ingredients conforming to FDA and 3-A standards, may also be selected. PVC tubing stocked in sizes ranging from 3/8- to 4-inch I.D. Custom sizes and colors are available, as well as cam-operated couplings, barb-style fittings, and clamps for complete hose assemblies.
