Pfizer biotech unit plans San Francisco relocation

The Associated Press reports that Pfizer Inc. will relocate its biotech research center to San Francisco. The company plans to move the unit in early 2010 from its current location in the city of South San Francisco, a longtime Northern California biotech hub. Pfizer biotech center president Corey Goodman says the unit will lease its new headquarters next to a second campus of the University of California, San Francisco. The world''s largest drug maker announced a $9.5 million research partnership with UCSF in June.
