Poultry worker killed in industrial accident

ORLAND, Ind. — A worker at a chicken-processing plant near Orland, Ind., was killed Sept. 1 in an industrial accident, The Journal Gazette reported.

Samuel Worrell, 25, was fatally injured by machinery used to unload crates of chickens after they arrive at Miller Poultry.

According to the coroner, the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.
