Power outage causes 10,000-gallon sewage spill in Cambria, Calif.

CAMBRIA, Calif. — A power outage at the Cambria sewage treatment plant caused about 10,000 gallons of sewage to be discharged into a central coast creek and to the Pacific Ocean, The Sacramento Bee reported.

San Luis Obispo County officials have warned swimmers, surfers and others to avoid Cambria''s Santa Rosa Creek and the ocean at Moonstone Beach Park.

According to The San Luis Obispo County Tribune, a blown circuit breaker in an electrical panel caused the Saturday night power outage at the Cambria sewage treatment plant.
