EDMONTON, Canada — XL Foods, the company at the center of a recent E. coli-tainted beef recall, says it has addressed the problems at its meat processing plant in Alberta, Canada, and it welcomes the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) as it begins its formal review of the facility.

XL Foods recall expands to more than 1,500 beef products

According to a statement released Tuesday, the company has implemented Corrective Action Requests issued by the CFIA following the findings of their preliminary investigation.

"We have worked diligently to address all Corrective Actions and want to thank our employees who have worked tirelessly to prepare us for this inspection,” said Co-CEO Brian Nilsson. “We will continue to work cooperatively with the CFIA as they conduct due diligence and verification of our intensified and enhanced food safety systems."
