S.Korea DC Chemical Wins $166 Mln Order from Japan
April 2, 2008
According to Reuters, South Korea''s DC Chemical Co announced recently it had won a 164.4 billion won ($165.6 million) order to supply polysilicon to Japan''s Space Energy Corporation.
The contract covers a period between January 2009 and December 2015, DC Chemical said in a filing to the Korea Exchange.
Tight supplies of polysilicon, which turns sunlight into electricity inside solar cells, have pushed up costs in the sector, although market analysts expect that shortage to begin to abate later this year.
