Sensor replaces mechanical float switch

November 29, 2004
New sensor is an electronic floatless sensor that detects level without any moving parts. The sensor, which can replace mechanical float switches, determines level by measuring the point of dielectric contrast that occurs at the level height. It features an enhanced software algorithm that scans 16 sensing fields along the length of its probe to determine the point at which the change in dielectric occurs. Upon startup, all sensing fields are evaluated every eight milliseconds to provide continuous level indication. Leveltrakā„¢.
