Shell to build $6.4 billion petrochemicals complex in Qatar

December 5, 2011

RAS LAFFAN, Qatar — Royal Dutch Shell signed an agreement with Qatar to build a $6.4 billion petrochemicals complex in the Gulf Arab State, ahramonline.com reported.

Qatar’s energy minister, Mohammed al-Sada, said that this agreement will not replace a similar one signed with Exxon Mobil.

"No, this is not a replacement. This is a continuation of our strategy. There will be other petrochemical plants in the pipeline,” Sada said.
