BEIJING — Sinopec, China’s state-owned oil and gas company, has consolidated its eight construction units to form a new engineering company that will focus on refinery and petrochemical projects.
Sinopec said in a statement Monday that the new company, Sinopec Engineering, can handle up to 20 engineering projects simultaneously and is capable of constructing large-scale refining and ethylene projects.
Sinopec executives believe the new entity will help the company secure more construction projects in China and other countries.
