Supply sticks strengthen and simplify process piping

January 26, 2009
Series PCWS was developed to eliminate connections and minimize space requirements in plastic piping systems. The pressure regulating supply stick combines a number of valves, connectors, and gauges into a compact, single-piece design. Most significantly, the reduction in size and connections provides an overall increase in piping strength by 1400%, virtually eliminating potential for breakage, according to the manufacturer. The multi-function assembly, called a "stick," incorporates the features of a pressure regulator, pressure gauge, and shut-off valve into a single unit. By eliminating the need for multiple joints and pipe sections, installation costs are reduced as well. Designed specifically for process cooling water, the all-thermoplastic stick assemblies can be used to strengthen piping and reduce footprint in a variety of applications where corrosion is an issue. The inherent pressure regulator can be set to supply downstream pressure from 5 to 125 PSI. Stick body materials are offered in Geon PVC or Corzan CPVC, with EPDM or FKM (Viton) seals. A variety of pipeline connections are available. Different types of connections can be specified for inlet and outlet. Each stick includes a pressure gauge or optional pressure/temperature gauge.
