Three workers killed in explosion at Wyoming oil storage site

August 30, 2011

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — An explosion at a Wyoming oil storage site has killed three workers, according to The Washington Post.

The blast occurred at about 10 a.m. Monday as workers were laying a fuel line in a remote region of eastern Wyoming.

The fuel line was intended to supply a heater treatment facility that separates oil from water as they’re pumped out of the ground.

The workers were employed by a contractor that the Tulsa, Okla.-based Samson Resources Company had hired to bring an oil well back into production at the site.
