Unilever closing ice cream offices

Unilever is closing two ice cream offices, including one in Green Bay, and integrating them into existing U.S. and Canadian units, the Associated Press reports. The company said the ice cream business'' U.S. headquarters in Green Bay would be relocated to Englewood Cliffs, N.J., and its Canadian headquarters in Oakville, Ontario, to Toronto. The move will affect about 240 workers in Green Bay and 35 at Oakville. The consolidation would result in the loss of about 100 jobs. Workers will receive details within the next few days about how the move will affect them, she said. Unilever said operations and jobs at its ice cream manufacturing plants are not affected by the move, and its Ben & Jerry''s affiliate will continue to be run out of South Burlington, Vt.
