Unipetrol to upgrade polyethylene production capacity in Czech Republic
LITVINOV, Czech Republic — Czech chemical company Unipetrol is planning to upgrade and expand its polyethylene production capacity at its site in Litvínov in the northwest of the Czech Bohemia region, according to European Plastics News.
The Czech refiner and polyolefins producer is preparing to construct a new 300,000 tpa PE plant.
The new facility, which would be the third PE plant at Litvínov, is scheduled to take the place of Unipetrol’s original 120,000 tpa plant there that dates back to 1976, state media reports, quoting an environmental impact assessment report. The outdated first unit produces high-density polyethylene.
