Universal pipe gasket taking off in process piping applications
July 22, 2005
Since its introduction nine months ago, W. L. Gore & Associates’ GORE™ Universal Pipe Gasket has gained broad acceptance and usage in process piping applications as more than 50 of the largest processors of chemicals and pharmaceuticals are now using the new gaskets, either in product trials or for regular service. Gaskets enable maintenance engineers to standardize their gasket applications across steel, glass-lined steel, and FRP systems wherever a non-metallic gasket can be used. Users are realizing lowered overall sealing costs, simplified maintenance procedures, and easier inventory management with the product. Gaskets operate at temperatures up to 600 degrees F and pressures up to 3,000 psi.
