Vortex Flowmeter for Steam Energy Measurement

KROHNE, Inc.’s OPTISWIRL 4070 C is the first vortex flowmeter to feature integrated pressure and temperature compensation in two-wire technology. The device is ideal for steam quantity measurement for internal energy balancing. It measures volumetric flow compensated for temperature and pressure for recalculation of steam mass and/or energy. The OPTISWIRL 4070C output of steam flow or heat transfer can be used in an energy monitoring or management system. The OPTISWIRL 4070 C provides reliable measurement of operating and standard volumetric or mass flow of steam, gases and vapors, or conductive and nonconductive liquids, even with fluctuating pressures and temperatures. The devices are particularly suitable for the measurement saturated steam. For customers running steam networks in which individual units draw off steam for process purposes, the OPTISWIRL 4070C unifies three measurements: the process temperature, pressure and volume flow.
