Wireless monitoring system for rotating equipment in wastewater treatment plants

ITT’S ProSmart wireless monitoring system provides cost-effective monitoring of all types of rotating equipment used in treatment plants. This new technology brings affordable real-time monitoring to equipment that was previously monitored by manual handheld type data collection equipment. The system continuously monitors and automatically predicts machine health and alerts plant operators and maintenance personnel of existing and impending problems. The majority of rotating equipment such as motors, pumps, fans and compressors are typically monitored via walk-around programs. Walk-around programs are labor intensive and data is often only collected once a month leaving the equipment unmonitored for the majority of the time. The “plug and play” ProSmart can be implemented within hours, with no wiring required, and provides reliable 24/365 monitoring for less than $2 per day from day one. ProSmart automatically collects, trends, and displays data; it then generates alarms based on machine health. ProSmart uses inputs from vibration, temperature, oil condition and level, fluid flush and leak, pressure, and speed, together with patented algorithms, to create Smart Alarms that notify the customer of machine condition via cell phone, pager, email, and a web-based browser. The system also collects and presents vibration FFT’s on demand.
