Purfoods to expand in Ohio

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio — Purfoods, an Iowa-based manufacturer and distributor of packaged foods, plans to spend $1.35 million to acquire and upgrade a facility in Youngstown Commerce Park, The Business Journal reported.

Purfoods expects to hire 25 employees by the end of this month and employ another 50 to 100 by March 31, 2012, the article stated.

"We''re trying to sign a lease on the building and still working out the details," said Purfoods Chief Operating Officer Kevin O’Rourke. "Hopefully, it''ll be a new building for us and new jobs for you."
