The rugged CS675 and CS676 Stainless Steel Conductivity Sensors from Sensorex are ideal for highly accurate, reliable monitoring of impurities in boiler water, reducing blow down maintenance cycles and lowering boiler operating, repair and energy costs. As boilers operate, pure water leaves the water in the form of steam and dissolved solids accumulate in the remaining water. If left unwatched and unregulated, these dissolved solids can cause boiler corrosion and contamination and lead to inaccurate boiler operation. Boiler blow down maintenance is a process that helps prevent solids from building up by removing contaminated water and replacing it with fresh water. Careful monitoring of boiler water quality is necessary to ensure that blow downs are performed at the proper intervals, maintaining boiler accuracy while conserving water and energy. The amount of dissolved solids in boiler water can be determined by measuring the ability of the water to conduct electricity.
