SALT LAKE CITY — A scientist accused of stealing chemical recipes from a Utah company pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court to one count of unlawful access to a protected computer, The Washington Post reported.
Prabhu Mohapatra, who worked for Frontier Scientific Inc., allegedly accessed a company chemical resource notebook and emailed the recipe for meso-Tetraphenylporphine, or TPP, to his brother-in-law’s company in India.
The 42-year-old Mohapatra faces five years in prison if convicted.
