The Associated Press reports that seven workers were burned alive in a shoe factory fire at South Jatrabari in the Bangladesh capital, according to Fire Service director general Abu Nayeem Mohammad Shahidullah. Four people were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s Burn Unit in critical condition. The fire broke out at a chemical company where adhesives are produced for shoe soles.
