The St. Louis Business Journal reports Solutia will stop making a key ingredient for a rubber compound used in the manufacturing of tires at its facility at a Monsanto site in Antwerp, Belgium. Production of primary accelerators is scheduled to stop in the second half of 2010. It was not immediately known how many employees would be affected. Solutia will continue making other chemicals at the Belgium plant.
