Market Watch is reporting that the U.S. Supreme Court dealt a loss to Exxon Mobil recently by allowing a lawsuit on human rights abuses in Indonesia to continue at a lower court.
The court rejected Exxon Mobil''s appeal of a ruling on the human rights advocates on behalf of villagers in Indonesia''s Aceh province. The suit stemmed from allegations of violence by Indonesian soldiers Exxon Mobil hired for security at a natural gas plant.
The lawsuit will now proceed against Exxon Mobil in the Washington, D.C.-based federal courts under state law claims.
