The state awarded a $1.5 million grant to PolymerOhio Inc. to help attract polymer companies to Ohio, bizjournals.com reports. With about 2,800 polymer companies employing 140,000 in the state, PolymerOhio hopes to continue to attract others from the industry. The grant comes through the state''s Third Frontier Project, which is a $1.6 billion bid to bring high-tech jobs to Ohio. Polymer companies include plastic-makers, equipment manufacturers and chemical companies such as Covington, Ky.-based Ashland Inc., which has operations in Dublin.
