Transocean Ltd. said Wednesday than an internal investigation into a rig explosion that dumped nearly five billion gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico last year was the fault of BP, reports Market Watch. The team, made up of experts from relevant technical fields and specialists in accident investigation, concluded the Deepwater Horizon oil spill was the result of a succession of interrelated well design, construction, and temporary abandonment decisions made by the operator, BP, in the two weeks leading up to the incident. The spill began April 20, 2010, after an explosion that killed 11 people.
