According to the Associated Press, Hercules Tianpu Chemicals, Hercules’ 40 percent-owned joint venture, reported an incident recently at one of its methylcellulose production lines in China. Two employees were injured in the incident but received treatment and are expected to make a full recovery, the company said. Hercules released few details but said it appears that the incident may have been caused by a fire in a filtering system in final packaging. Resources needed to restore operations have been deployed, the company said. Other investors in the venture include Luzhou North Chemical Industry Co. Ltd. and Jiangsu Feixiang Chemical Co. Ltd.
