OAKDALE, La. — Virtual Engineering Operations is planning to build a $100 million refinery at the old Arizona Chemical plant site west of Oakdale, La., American Press reported.
The Allen Parish Police Jury recently agreed to lease the parish-owned property to the Texas-based company, the article stated.
The refinery, which will take 18 months to construct, will process 20,000 barrels a day of crude to produce diesel fuel for farmers, jet fuel and heating oil, according to Virtual Engineering Operations President J. Craig Harrington.
“America needs to get back to industry and manufacturing and, hopefully, we can do that,” Harrington said.
