Universal Flow Monitors, Inc.’s P420 plastic-construction, vortex-shedding flowmeters are cost-effective for use in process water, membrane permeate, brine and corrosive fluids in water treatment, and desalination and chemical treatment applications. These flowmeters are often used as components of skid-mounted systems offered by water treatment vendors. The P420 Series of plastic flowmeters meets requirements for an inexpensive flow rate transmitter without moving parts that can stick, bind or coat when measuring flow in processing water or corrosive fluids. Universal Flow Monitors’ P420 Series includes models with wetted parts entirely of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) for greater heat resistance. They are electronic instruments designed to transmit the flow rate of low-viscosity liquids compatible with PVC/CPVC, including liquids that may contain particles.
