PRNewswire reports that Westlake Chemical Corporation has announced today that its olefins petrochemical complex in Lake Charles, Louisiana has been restarted following an orderly shut down in anticipation of Hurricane Rita and that its ethylene units are operating. The downstream polyethylene and styrene units are expected to return to normal operations over the course of the next few days. The company is continuing to work with its customers to allocate products on a fair and equitable basis.
