ROCKMART, Ga. — A worker who lost his arm in an accident at a poultry processing plant in Rockmart, Ga., on Tuesday afternoon will survive and likely recover full use of his arm, the Rome News-Tribune reported.
The unidentified man was finishing up his duties at the end of the shift Tuesday at Tip Top Poultry Inc. when his arm got caught in a conveyor.
He was rushed to Emory University Hospital where doctors reattached the arm Tuesday night.
According to Brad Respess, chief operating officer of Tip Top Poultry, the surgery was successful and doctors are confident the man will have a complete recovery.
“The outlook is very good. We’re very pleased at the outcome,” Respess said.
