COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. — Employees were evacuated from a water treatment plant in Columbia Heights, Minn., Tuesday after a chemical incident, TwinCities.com reported.
According to the story, hydrochloric acid and caustic soda were accidentally mixed together, causing excessive heat that triggered the sprinkler system to go off in the building.
All employees were immediately evacuated and no injuries were reported.
The reaction was contained to the facility’s hydrochloric acid room, the article stated.
