Dow Chemical Co. has awarded a major contract to engineering construction company Fluor Corp. to execute a significant portion of its U.S. Gulf Coast investments.

Fluor will be involved in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a propane dehydrogenation unit, an ethane cracker and associated power, utilities and infrastructure facility upgrades to support each unit. The facilities will be constructed in Dow's Oyster Creek facility in Freeport, Texas.

Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value into backlog in the first quarter of 2013.
