A new natural gas liquids pipeline, known as the Western Reach Pipeline System, is to be set up in northwest Alberta.

Two U.S. energy companies have announced plans to develop a pipeline project that will transport natural gas liquids from the Marcellus and Utica shale plays to the rapidly expanding petrochemical and export complex on the U.S. Gulf Coast.

The U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration has ordered a number of corrective actions that Columbia Gas Transmission will have to implement before it is allowed to resume operation.
