Eastman Chemical says Texas Plant will be Down Through Mid-March
Thursday, March 04, 2010

Eastman Chemical said that outages at a Texas facility could cut per-share profits during the first quarter by as much as 25 cents, according to the Associated Press. The company said most of the impact will be offset by higher than expected sales and operating margins. The plant in Longview, east of Dallas, had a power outage on February 20 and shut down. Some equipment was damaged during an attempted restart and operations are not expected to return to normal until later this month, the company said. The plant makes more than 40 chemical and polymer products and employs more than 1,500 people.
