An explosion early Sunday morning at the Hexion Specialty Chemicals facility in Sheboygan, Wis., that caused about $25,000 in damage was blamed on an equipment malfunction, The Sheboygan Press reported.
According to a Sheboygan Fire Department press release, emergency officials received a call at 4:37 a.m. about a shed that had exploded at the company's facility.
By the time firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire had self-extinguished, but they did find evidence of an explosion.
Fire crews and company personnel shut down the chemical processing units and checked for chemical leaks, but found none.
No injuries were reported.
