4B Components WatchdogThe Watchdog™ Elite hazard monitoring system from 4B Components is a user-programmable, microprocessor controlled bucket elevator and conveyor monitor. The control unit accepts a combination of signals from sensors for monitoring belt alignment, belt speed, continuous bearing temperature, head pulley alignment and plug conditions. An LCD screen displays elevator status messages (available in four different languages) and a bright LED display shows belt speed. Calibration and set-up parameters are accessed via a password and front panel touch buttons. The Watchdog™ can be programmed to set off an alarm and provide shutdown control of machinery when hazardous conditions are detected. The control unit can be connected to a host computer through a standard RS485 serial communications link, an optional PLC interface, or networked (Ethernet /DeviceNet) using 4B’s F500 Fieldbus.
