No. 834 is an electrically heated 550 degrees F (7.78 C) shelf oven from Grieve, currently used for drying trays of ore samples.

Grieve No. 834 shelf ovenNo. 834 is an electrically heated 550 degrees F (7.78 C) shelf oven from Grieve, currently used for drying trays of ore samples. 12 KW are installed in Nichrome wire heating elements. The unit has 4-inch insulated walls and a Type 430 stainless steel interior. A 1000 CFM, 1-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload. Stainless steel pans are held by three tiers of 17 shelf supports on a 3-inch vertical center. Controls onboard No. 834 include a digital indicating temperature controller, recirculating blower airflow safety switch and a manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors.
