The material is subjected to a combination of compression, impact and shear forces as the rotor arm moves over the stationary cone wall to achieve size reduction into very fine particles. Due to the extremely low residence time for material in the grinding zone, very low temperatures are generated during milling, making the Cone Nibbler particularly effective on heat sensitive products. The Cone Nibbler offers effective size reduction on a wide range of heat sensitive, moist materials used in food applications and is well suited for recycling tasks involving the feedback of tablets, capsules and other products.
