Rob DeHaan, Corporate Sales Manager, Hapman

Rob DeHaan is Hapman’s Corporate Sales Manager and has been with Hapman since 2012.  Rob takes great pride in finding the correct solution for each customer’s unique situation.  He appreciates being able to meet with customers, learning about their process, digging deep into their application needs, and determining the correct course of action for their material handling challenges. He’s worked with customers in broad and varying markets including food, chemical, mining, pharmaceutical, plastic, vivarium, mineral processing, and wastewater treatment, to name a few.  When away from the office Rob enjoys hockey, golf, and shaking his fist at neighborhood kids walking on his lawn.

Todd Smith, K-State Bulk Solids Technology Center

Todd Smith is Business and Strategy Manager of Kansas State University’s Bulk Solids Technology Center, a partnership of industry, university, and government, and the only university-based Bulk Solids research center in the Americas. Todd spent 35 years in the bulk solids industry, first at DuPont, then as Engineering Manager at MAC Equipment (now Schenck Process) and then General Manager of Coperion K-Tron Salina and vice president of the company’s Global Systems Group. He has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Kansas State University and earned his M.B.A in 1998. He has authored one book, as well as many magazine articles and technical papers. Todd’s Board of Director experience includes president of the KSU Dean’s Advisory Council, Process Equipment Manufacturer’s Association, Salina Area Technical College, Salina Chamber of Commerce, Salina Regional Health Foundation, Salina Municipal Band, and Salina Soccer Club.

Colin Barbeau, Bulk Materials Handling Specialist at Hatch

Colin Barbeau is a creative bulk materials handling specialist engineer with more than 15 years of experience, including five years working for an OEM as a sales and application engineer. Colin has also been the BMH lead for Eastern North America at Hatch for five years. His work is result driven and oriented toward system definition, equipment selection and design, equipment upgrade and rework, conceptual and feasibility studies, layout, and commissioning. Colin is a technical editorial member for Processing Magazine and he is also involved in CEMA’s emerging technologies committee. He recently was the project manager for the design and launch of PneuCalc 7, Hatch pneumatic conveyor design software, the only commercially available tool in the industry.
