The submersible pump handles corrosive and non-corrosive, clear or solids-laden liquids, at up to 200 F. Its maker, Old Saybrook, Conn.-based BJM Pumps, says this is a higher temperature than other submersible pumps like it, making it particularly beneficial where temperature variations are critical to safety, product quality and efficiency.

The pump, available from 1 to 10 hp – 3 phase, is seeing success in process applications in beverage and bottling plants, dairy-product, poultry and meat processing and in chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries.

In its lastest version, all “wet” parts are of highest quality 316 stainless steel. Wear parts are made of cast material. Lower horsepower pumps are made with “precision cast parts,” the same quality used in aircraft and space vehicles due to its superior density and strength. Other models are manufactured with sand cast parts.
The motor is protected by double mechanical seals. The lower seal is made of silicon carbide/silicon carbide; the upper of carbon/ceramic. An additional lip seal above the impeller helps prevent abrasives from entering into the seal chamber.

Most sizes can be converted to a high-head version by merely changing the impeller and the suction plate. Other brands often require major changes to achieve different heads or volumes.
