According to a new report by research and analysis firm TechNavio, the global water treatment products market is predicted to grow at an annual rate of 4 percent between 2011 and 2015 and by 6.25 percent over the period between 2012 and 2016.
The report looks at the projected development of the market in North and South America, the EMEA region and Asia Pacific. According to the report, there are several factors that are expected to shape the future global water treatment products market. One of the strongest driving forces for growth will be the increased contamination of water, particularly in certain geographical areas.

TechNavio said that the need for clean water will be the primary influence on the development of the market by 2016. Despite the fact that there are many water resources worldwide, the majority of them are contaminated and the water is not suitable for use. There are countries where only about 15 percent of the available water resources are drinkable and they cannot meet the domestic demand for clean water. This has resulted in water scarcity in areas like Afghanistan, authors of the report noted.
