Motion Industries names vice president for Central Group

Motion Industries Inc., a leading distributor of maintenance, repair and operation replacement parts, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company, has named Chris Pacer as vice president of the company’s Central Group.

A graduate of the University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology (electrical and electronics engineering, 1994), Pacer has more than 24 years of experience within the industry. He has spent the last 22 years with Motion Industries, which were dedicated to various key roles throughout the organization. He will now lead the company’s newly formed Central Group. Pacer joined Motion Industries as a certified Fluid Power Specialist in 1997, working his way up to branch manager throughout the various markets within Northern Ohio. He then joined the company’s corporate accounts team in 2011 before being promoted to Detroit Division vice president and general manager in 2014.

With annual sales of $6.3 billion, Motion Industries is a leading industrial parts distributor of bearings, mechanical power transmission, electrical and industrial automation, hydraulic and industrial hose, hydraulic and pneumatic components, industrial products, safety products and material handling.

Motion Industries has over 600 locations, including 15 distribution centers throughout North America, and serves more than 200,000 customers from the food and beverage, pulp and paper, iron and steel, chemical, mining and aggregate, petrochemical, automotive, semiconductor, wood and lumber, medical and pharmaceutical industries.

Tuthill Corporation announces CEO

Tuthill Corporation’s board of directors recently appointed Steven Westfall as chief executive officer and president. Over the past four months, Westfall transitioned from the role of president at Tuthill Fort Wayne to the Burr Ridge Corporate office. 

Westfall has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience working in the manufacturing and mechanical and industrial engineering industries. He began his career with Tuthill in 2013 as president of Tuthill Springfield. During his tenure in Springfield the focus was on operational excellence, strategic capital investment and commercialization of the business channels. In February 2018, Westfall became president of Tuthill Fort Wayne, again focused on top-line growth, operational excellence and strategic investment particularly in the Tuthill Fill-Rite product brand. 

Before joining Tuthill, Westfall held CEO roles with EaglePicher Technologies and Detroit Tool Metal Products, and he was the president of CST Industries. He holds an MBA in finance and business management degrees from Pittsburg State University.

Tuthill Corporation is a privately held manufacturer of industrial goods specializing in rotating equipment. It manufactures fuel and chemical transfer pumps and meters at Tuthill Fort Wayne; vacuum pumps and positive displacement blowers and systems at Tuthill Springfield; lubrication, magnetically coupled and process pumps at Tuthill Alsip; and custom injection-molded plastics at Tuthill Clearwater. Tuthill serves markets including agriculture, construction, chemical, food and beverage, energy, pharmaceuticals and medical, and transportation.  

Cerahelix names Chief Operating Officer

Cerahelix Inc. recently named William (Bill) Paulus as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Paulus joins Cerahelix with more than 29 years of experience in manufacturing and global operations. He will be responsible for leading all operational, developmental and manufacturing functions of Cerahelix while bringing the company’s flagship product through scaled manufacturing.

Paulus’s career includes 20 years with Delphi across positions focused on engineering, marketing, business development and strategic planning. At Celgard LLC, a manufacturer of lithium battery separators, he was vice president of global operations acquiring expertise in intellectual property and product development. While at Pittsburgh Glass Works, he served as vice president of manufacturing. Most recently, he was with Blackmore Sensors &

Analytics Inc. as vice president of manufacturing and supply chain.

Founded in 2011, Cerahelix has combined DNA biotechnology and ceramic chemistry to create a new class of ceramic filters.
