K-State will be holding a short course titled Efficient Material Handling: The Essentials of Pneumatic Conveying from 8:30 am to 5 pm, December 2-3, at its Advanced Manufacturing and Bulk Solids Technology Center (BSTC) on the Olathe campus near Kansas City.
The course will cover the fundamentals of pneumatic conveying, including system components and their functions, the differences between dense- and dilute-phase conveying, best practices for system design and operation, and how to select the appropriate system for a given application.
The course will blend interactive theory, practical calculations, and hands-on learning, with demonstrations of system components and functionality and practical exercises to reinforce the lessons learned.
This continuing education course is suitable for those new to pneumatic conveying or needing a foundational understanding as well as engineers, technicians, and project managers looking to improve operations. Attendees are encouraged to bring their specific questions and issues for discussion.
The course will be led by BSTC director Jonathan McPherson and costs $1,300 per person. Lunches will be provided, and group discounts are available.
