KROHNE plans to pre-launch the FLEXMAG 6100 single-use electromagnetic flowmeter at INTERPHEX 2026, scheduled for April 21–23 at the Javits Center in New York City.

The new instrument is designed for single-use biopharmaceutical processing systems, where disposable components and sterile fluid handling are common. According to KROHNE, the FLEXMAG 6100 builds on the company’s earlier FLEXMAG 4050 C flowmeter platform used in applications such as filtration, chromatography, and buffer or media preparation.

The FLEXMAG 6100 introduces a fully digital interface using Ethernet/IP communication, allowing improved connectivity and data integration within automated bioprocessing environments. The device also incorporates enhanced current output and a galvanically isolated power supply architecture intended to support accurate measurements in demanding applications.

KROHNE said the flowmeter includes advanced diagnostic functions and LED-based error indication, providing operators with additional tools for monitoring performance and identifying potential issues.

The new model also features a separate transmitter and reduced sensor footprint, which can simplify installation in compact single-use system assemblies. The transmitter can operate with two different disposable flow tube sizes, allowing operators to switch between flow ranges by replacing the tube without recalibration.

Like earlier models in the series, the system uses gamma-sterilizable single-use flow tubes designed for compatibility with braided and non-braided hoses used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The flowmeter’s electromagnetic measurement design enables direct volumetric flow measurement that is not affected by fluid properties such as viscosity, density, or color.

KROHNE also introduced bidirectional flow measurement capability in the FLEXMAG 6100, which may support more complex process designs in single-use biopharmaceutical systems.

The company will present the new flowmeter at Booth #1462 during INTERPHEX 2026, where attendees can review the technology and discuss applications in single-use bioprocessing environments.
