AssetBuilt has announced it will oversee the recovery, marketing and sale of surplus manufacturing assets from the former Anheuser-Busch manufacturing campus in Newark, New Jersey, as part of a broader decommissioning and redevelopment project.

The assignment covers industrial asset recovery, auction services and demolition support for the approximately 3.2 million-square-foot manufacturing complex located on more than 86 acres. According to AssetBuilt, the company is working with the property's ownership and redevelopment teams to remove reusable equipment before demolition, with the goal of maximizing asset value and supporting the site's redevelopment.

AssetBuilt will conduct a global live webcast auction from Sept. 8–11, 2026. The event will offer manufacturers, processors, contractors, equipment dealers and industrial investors access to thousands of surplus assets from the former beverage manufacturing facility.

The auction inventory includes equipment from nearly every stage of large-scale beverage production, including:

  • Complete brewhouse systems
  • Fermentation and storage tanks
  • High-speed canning, bottling and packaging lines
  • Stainless steel processing equipment
  • Industrial refrigeration, steam and compressed air systems
  • Electrical distribution and plant automation equipment
  • Water treatment and wastewater processing systems
  • Machine shop equipment
  • Maintenance, Repair and Operations inventory
  • Material handling and warehouse equipment
  • Plant support equipment and laboratory assets

According to AssetBuilt, the offering is expected to attract buyers from the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, consumer packaged goods, industrial manufacturing, automation, logistics, engineering and equipment resale industries.

In addition to managing the auction, AssetBuilt is coordinating the removal and resale of reusable machinery, process systems, electrical infrastructure and plant support equipment before demolition activities begin. The company said the approach is intended to maximize financial recovery for stakeholders, extend the service life of industrial equipment through reuse and help streamline redevelopment of the former manufacturing campus.

The auction will be held as a live webcast, with equipment inspections available by appointment. AssetBuilt said equipment catalogs, photographs, inspection scheduling and bidder registration will be released ahead of the sale.
