EASA — A premier event for rotating equipment

This year’s Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) Convention is scheduled for June 14-16 at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville. A premier event for rotating equipment, EASA provides attendees the opportunity to connect with leading manufacturers and suppliers of pumps, electric motors and more.

In addition to the exhibition hall, industry leaders will take the stage at the Solutions Expo, which will run from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Monday and 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sessions at the convention will include:

·     Consultant, speaker and best-selling author Mike Weinberg will present a program about how to reduce complacency and increase accountability without micromanaging or demotivating your sales team.

·      EASA pump and vibration specialist Gene Vogel will discuss why pumps fail. This session will explore various failure modes and provide some direction on ways to avoid them.

·      Calvin Earp and Ron Widup from Shermco Industries in Irving, Texas, will host a session titled “Use the Latest Tools of the Trade for Field Testing of Electric Motors.”

·      Wayne Hall of Jenkins Electric in Charlotte, North Carolina, will hold a session titled “Generator Repair Tips” that will cover items to examine and take note of during repair of a generator as well as troubleshooting.

·      EASA representatives will host a presentation titled “Can Premium Efficient Motors Be Rewound without Degrading Efficiency?” This session will discuss the latest EASA/AEMT research that included independent, third-party testing.

·      Clint Swindall of Verbalocity Inc. in San Antonio will present a session titled “Connecting Generations.” It will cover what makes the generations different, how to attract each generation and how to keep the generations interested and inspired as employees.

·      Brian Beaulieu with ITR Economics will present a session titled “Economy 2020 and Beyond: Planning with Optimism.” Topics for the presentation include:

·      The financial markets and leveraging growth opportunities

·      List of markets that present the best opportunities for the next business cycle decline to help you beat the cycle

·      Assess your interest rate and other financial trends

·      Consider your 3, 5 and 7-year planning needs and talk about the 2020s and how you should prepare for challenges and opportunities

Keynote speaker Kevin Brown, a 30-year franchising veteran, also will discuss The Hero Effect: Being Your Best When It Matters the Most.

The event also will include an update from EASA board chairman Brian Larry and EASA president and CEO Linda Raynes about the association's activities titled “What Has EASA Done for You Lately? And What Is Next?”
