Flexicon launches dust-free PNEUMATI-CON vacuum conveying system
Flexicon has introduced a new PNEUMATI-CON dilute phase vacuum conveying system designed to support dust-free manual dumping of small bags and sacks, as well as container unloading using a handheld pickup wand.
The system is mounted on a carbon steel access platform and incorporates a stainless-steel hopper with an enclosed dust hood and glove box. Operators empty bags through sidewall openings in the hood, allowing material to be discharged without direct contact. Empty bags are transferred to an integrated compactor for disposal.
Dust generated during bag dumping, disposal, and compaction is captured by dual cartridge filters. Collected dust is periodically dislodged from the filter surfaces using timed compressed air pulses and returned to the hopper. The filters are accessible for maintenance and replacement.
The bag compactor is designed to compress up to 80 empty bags into a removable bin. Safety interlocks prevent the compactor from operating unless all access points are properly closed.
In addition to bag dumping, the system allows operators to unload open containers from floor level using a handheld pickup wand. The wand is connected to the conveying line through a flexible, clear polyvinyl chloride hose with a static conductive wire and is compliant with dry food and pharmaceutical material handling requirements.
Material from either the bag dumping station or the pickup wand is routed through a two-way diverter valve to a filter receiver. The receiver separates solids from the conveying air stream and discharges material through a rotary airlock valve into the downstream process. Conveying lines can be routed vertically or horizontally and can pass through walls or ceilings to accommodate a range of facility layouts.
